Equipped to Change the World!

I am writing this article from 38000 feet above the Gulf of Mexico en route to Miami then Charlotte North Carolina. I am basking in the glow! Not the glow of the Central American or South Florida sun, but in the glow of the presence of the Lord and the joy of a very fruitful time of ministry among the pastors of Northern Nicaragua.

Before I even departed the country I was receiving testimonies of what the Lord accomplished among these men and women of God in the mountain region of this Central American country. Repeatedly we heard the declaration “I have been to several conferences but never one of this magnitude!” Other pastors testified saying, “I have a new fire burning inside” and more than once leaders thanked me for stirring them up and equipping them for the work of evangelism.

This was such a powerful and satisfying time for me personally because it was all a direct confirmation of the vision that the Lord has given Priority! Evangelism for these desperately poor people of Nicaragua. I am keenly aware that time is very short and we must make the most of every opportunity before us. I do not want to be caught “spinning my wheels” or engaging in busy work when we are on the verge of the greatest harvest in human history.

So it was with great anticipation that we planned and conducted these pastor/leader conferences in Esteli, Condega, Ocatal, and Jinotega Nicaragua. We were able to train and encourage 250 pastors and ministry leaders. We focused on personal and world evangelism and the pastors responded to this challenge in a big way. I am anticipating good fruit in their churches in the months to come. In fact, I ministered in one of these churches following the conference in Ocatal and the people were powerfully touched by the Lord and have a definite desire for the Lord to use their lives for His glory!

Its our desire to establish a center near Esteli Nicaragua that will serve multiple purposes. First, as an outreach to street kids (a ministry already established in a local church there), secondly, as a children's home removing kids from the streets, and finally, as a ministry training center for Nicaraguan youth to be equipped to go to the nations of the world. I already see it in my spirit!

We are on the verge of the greatest harvest in world history and the time to act is now. national and world events (with the terroristic help of the media) can cripple us with fear but the Lord repeatedly commanded us to not allow fear to rule our hearts but rather to act on our faith in Him. It is prime time to equip the coming generation for the mission that is before them. Lets be right in the middle of it and equip them to change their world in the Name of Jesus!
