Here's a powerful testimony from Brad & Sarah Fancher of Restoration House Hopkinsville, KY
Hello Friends & Family,
We hope this letter finds you doing well. Our family is rejoicing and we wanted to share this testimony of healing with all of you who love our son!
Many of you are aware that soon after we arrived home with Judah from Ethiopia, he was diagnosed with Hepatitis B. At that time, we were referred to a pediatric gastroenterologist at Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital. After several rounds of blood work and tests and studying his situation, the doctors told us that Judah had most likely contracted the disease through a dirty needle when he was given immunizations at the orphanage.
We were told that when a person contracts Hep B that the person will either build up an immunity to the disease soon after an acute episode, only be a carrier of the disease, or the person will become chronically infected.
Judah was diagnosed as being chronically infected with the disease...meaning that it could be years before his body started to show symptoms of the illness, but eventually his liver would start to show signs of damage. He would then have to undergo treatment most likely for the rest of his life. 25% of those who become chronically infected during childhood, die prematurely from cirrhosis, liver disease or liver cancer.
We began praying for God to heal Judah.
Two weeks ago, we took Judah back to Vanderbilt for his bi-annual check up, where they do blood work and an ultrasound on his liver.
When the doctor called with the results, the first words he spoke were...
I have some UNUSUAL, but good news... He went on to explain to that Judahs blood tests came back showing that he in fact DID NOT have Hepatitis B any longer! He kept trying to explain maybe what could have happened, but always came back to the fact that it was very UNUSUAL. He did not have an explanation, because all the tests done before were very conclusive that Judah was chronically infected...but now the tests say something different.
So, the bottom line is...Judah had a lifelong disease that has no cure, that would affect him for the rest of his life (because Hep B is contagious through body fluids, the disease would also affect his future spouse and possibly his children)...but now he DOESNT!!!!
Judahs name means PRAISE...and we believe that this is just one example of how his life is going to show others that our God is definitely worthy of our praise!
Thank you for all the prayers and support for our family!
Praising Him!
Brad and Sara Fancher
